Qatar is exploring the viability of large-scale wind farm projects in the country and has completed a study to set up a wind farm project with a significant potential capacity in the northern part of the coun.
[pdf] Launched on May 22 in the southern Kolda region, the hybrid plant will generate 60 megawatts of solar power and store up to 72 megawatt-hours of energy. Once operational, it is expected to supply clean electricity to more than 25,000 households, benefiting nearly 235,000 people.
[pdf] The Pumped Storage Hydropower Wind and Solar Integration and System Reliability Initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible entities to carry out project design, transmission studies, power market assessments, and permitting for a pumped storage hydropower project to facilitate the long-duration storage of intermittent renewable electricity.
