Portugal’s Ministry of Energy has announced that it has allocated €100 million ($104.2 million) to 43 energy storage projects which should be installed by the end of 2025. A total of 79 applications were vying for grant support secured under the country’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
[pdf] A ceremony took place in Albania, 22 July 2025, to sign the agreement to build a new solar photovoltaic power plant at Belshi. The €42 million project is co-financed by an EU contribution of €9.5 million, through the Western Balkans Investment Framework.
[pdf] The solar power plant will be constructed in Bakuma Town, Lofa County, and serve as the backbone of a hybrid generation system, also featuring a 1.8 MW diesel plant and a 250,000-liter underground diesel storage unit.
