Thurrock Storage, the UK’s largest battery energy storage system (BESS) developed by Statera Energy is now energised and delivering electricity to the grid. This landmark 300MW battery storage site is capable of powering up to 680,000 homes with instantaneous power over two hours.
[pdf] The project will be built as a model of 100 MW HV cascade grid-connected energy storage system, introducing a large-scale energy storage development scheme that can be replicated, promoted and expanded, applicable to the modular and standardized development of large-scale energy storage power stations, and bringing application value and practical reference to related industries.
[pdf] The systems, each with a capacity of 30 MW/120 MWh (total 240 MWh), will be built at the Željezara site to improve electricity supply stability, integrate renewable energy faster, and boost energy independence.
