Huawei Digital Power has announced the signing of a key contract with SEPCOIII for its NEOM Red Sea project, which involves 400 MW of PV plus a 1300 MWh battery energy storage solution (BESS), currently the world’s largest energy storage project.
[pdf] The Huawei energy storage (or battery) system empowers you to store surplus energy generated during daylight hours, which can then be used during the night. With a modular design, the Huawei ESS offers the freedom to tailor your battery system’s capacity, ranging from 5kW to 30kW.
[pdf] The project, considered the world's largest solar-storage project, will install 3.5GW of solar photovoltaic capacity and a 4.5GWh battery storage system. The project has commenced in November 2024.
