The collaborative project “ AddESun ” aiming to safeguard the future of lead-acid batteries was launched in September 2017. The list of project goals includes a more sustainable production, improved charging behavior, longer service life and higher power density.
[pdf] The project, with a total investment of more than €75 million, will benefit from the expertise of Saft, TotalEnergies' battery affiliate, which will supply the project with the latest-generation of electricity storage technology (iShift LFP —lithium-iron-phosphate— containers).
